Our founder, Hannah Winishut's vision for founding Purshia Peak Strategies LLC began during her time at Oregon State University-Cascades in Bend, Oregon, where she earned Bachelor's degrees in both Business Administration and Sustainability. Hannah quickly recognized a crucial disconnect: the worlds of business and sustainability often seemed to operate with different cultures, as if they were inherently at odds. Yet, she saw immense, untapped value in how well-functioning ecological and social systems could directly benefit businesses.
This wasn't just a theoretical insight. Hannah's practical, hands-on experience working with local businesses right here in Bend, through her OSU-Cascades business program, allowed her to implement sustainable practices firsthand. She witnessed the tangible, positive impacts they had on operations and ottom lines. This experience solidified her conviction: sustainability isn't just a moral imperative; it's a strategic advantage.
While much of the sustainability conversation often overlooks small to medium-sized businesses, Hannah believes they hold immense potential for systemic change. These businesses can drive significant positive shifts, and crucially, they stand to gain substantially from the financial and operational efficiencies that sustainable practices, particularly circular economy principles, can offer. This realization was the spark that ignited Purshia Peak Consulting.
